Minimum Wage Podcast

In this project in economics class this year, we needed to create a podcast around the debate on minimum wage. The argument that have risen over time about this topic is "Should minimum wage be raised?" and we needed to create a podcast on this topic. To do this we asked several people about the topic, first the members in our group and then the business professional/employee and what their views on the topic were.

The first part of the process was researching the debate on minimum wage and what its currently at/what people want it to be raised to. The result we found was that people wanted the wage to be raised to either 12.00$ or 15.00$. My group believed that minimum wage needed to be bumped up a notch to account for the increase in inflation of the US dollar. Then we sent emails to the employers/employees to see if they would be willing to be in our interview and voice their opinion on the current minimum wage.

After talking to the stars of the podcast we wrote drafts of the questions we would be asking during the podcast, scheduled the podcast and executed it. Our interview went very smooth and all of the questions we asked we answered in detail and completely. My task was then put into action, I needed to use the program Audacity to change the lengths and cut up the tracks in the podcast. After chopping the audio I inserted music and and fades. This part of the project will help me in the future as a college student because the career that I want to go into is automotive instruction writing where I will need to be able to speak fluidly and edit sentences based on it. This will be especially useful if I make vocal based instructional writings. This would mean that I would need to edit the writing and audio recorded on the instruction.
