Senior Year Greatest Growth

My name is Zeke Reichert and I am going to be pursuing a future in mechanical engineering. The biggest interest that I have outside of school is working on cars, whether this be service or upgrades. I believe that this makes me want to have a career where I can be the designer and I can be one of the biggest parts of the process. To begin this process I am going to be attending Sinclair community college.

I believe that as a senior at the Dayton regional STEM school my greatest growth has been with my ability to be independent. One of the projects that I have engaged on that reinforces this is one I did at the beginning of senior year, this was the “Who I Am" This poem was written almost 100% individually, only getting instruction when refreshing our writing skills and during an in-class pier critique. This process helped develop me immensely as I had to manage myself when it came to putting time, effort and revision into it. Years ago when I would try and focus on a project I would constantly need redirected, and need an aid to keep me on task. Now that I have grown I am able to keep myself on topic and on task in and out of class. This means I can work on a project hours at a time to get it done with my highest quality of work.

I am going to continue developing my independent skills by continuing to work as I already do, and I will also develop them as I become an individual in modern society, between getting another job, finding an apartment and working on my projects I am going to be doing this the rest of my life, and I feel it is a skill I am very proud to have acquired before I was out of high school.
