This project has better prepared me business writing and more importantly it has prepared me for my future career as an automotive instruction writer. The purpose of this project was to get experience researching elements that the customer wants, exchange conversation between the client teacher and students and finally created curriculum around the lesson plans we created.
A binder that included all of the necessary paper work, this included the grants applied for, thank you letters, memos, meeting minutes, agendas and for my client teacher lesson plans. This also needed to be in a formal business layout to show our strengths in letter writing
To begin the lesson we learned about business communication and how to formally address clients and grant givers. Then in my group chose a client teacher, ours wanted virtual field trips to use in their class. We learned that our teacher didn’t actually need grants to make her field trips, she needed lesson plans around those field trips. My group still created a memo, meeting minutes and a client agenda. These pieces helped us organize all of our information and give deadlines for each part. The meeting minutes were used when we met up with the client teacher, they gave us a list of questions that were asked at the prior meeting and answers to them. We then created an agenda for the meeting. An agenda is created and sent out before formal meetings to give an idea of what topics will be discussed. These agendas also give them the ability to prepare for the meeting with questions on the topic.
Next was the research stage. I found this to be the most useful because it is where I found the examples of lesson plans and virtual field trips for my project, and where my group and I met with our client teacher to establish where we were at with the lesson plans and what needed to be done next. After the meeting we researched different virtual field trips based on what our client teacher needed. This stage is also where I understood the growth that was being taught to us. This project was giving us the ability to professionally communicate with individuals for business and formal reasons.
The final step of the project was to compile all of our research into a binder that stored all of the work me and my group did, this made is so that our client teacher could quickly and easily access all of the work that we did. We also created thank you letters, these letters gave the client teacher and any others involved in the project closure as it told them that the work they put into it was going to be put to use. Since we wrote lesson plans our thank you letters went to our client teacher and the creators of the virtual projects that we used.
This entire project has helped grow immensely in my entire career both as a student and as a future automotive instruction writer. The skills that I used here to communicate what was done or how something needs to be done were learned through this project along with the communication skills that I needed to work with those in a group and in different organizations I might need to do something with. The communication via business to business is very important when writing professional letters because you must have all of the correct information included with the work you submitted. This kind or work is perfect because it is just what I exercised for the past few weeks creating and polishing an entire project with an excellent set of group members and teachers to help assist.

This is my first artifact for the project, it is the meeting minutes for our first meeting with Mrs.Durkee

My second artifact was an example of one of our thank you letters. This one was going to the teacher that created one of the field trips we used.
