Chinese Grammar Reflection
My growth throughout this unit was my understanding of Chinese grammar in complex sentences and where to place the characters to complete the sentence.
When I am writing in Chinese I can now form a sentence with correct grammar and write a more complex sentence using what we learned reading other peoples power points and making our own.
I am noticing a change in language arts because now I am making sure that my grammar is better he class because I have more sentence structures to remember in both Chinese and English.
Some of the endeavors I have taken to expand on my knowledge on Chinese grammar are the lessons that we have used them in. I have them constantly throughout lesson 7 where we first learned them and still in lesson 8.
For lessons 7-8 I used my grammar to write Chinese sentences in the correct fashion. For example when using numbers I learned that I needed to use certain characters before others. Like if I were talking about time than I would need to say the time before I say the action or activity. This is valuable because if I were to go to china and speak to people than I will actually be able to say a correct sentence or if I were to talk to another person who speaks Chinese in the US than I would be able to successfully speak to them.
2 artifacts that I could use show my growth throughout this project would be the presentation that we made to show that we understood our grammar and my second artifact would be the verbal test that we took were we had to speak several lines of Chinese and us the grammar/sentence structures that we learned.
The classroom content that is visible in the presentation that my group and I made is everything about cardinal numbers and when to use them or where to use them. For example if I were to say the number 1 that would be a cardinal number. But if I were to say the 5 pens than I would have to use an ordinal number which is used to tell and order of things.
For my verbal test the reason that I would say it helped with my growth on the use of lesson 7’s grammar is because we had to understand 10 phrases and respond to them and we had to make up several phrases based on the structures that we learned in lessons 7-8. Example we had to be able to say one pen, but to say this you do not just say 1 pen you must have the measure word between to indicate that you are counting an item.
The presentation is a good artifact to demonstrate my growth because it has the main thing that my group made which was learning about cardinal and ordinal numbers. And I learned about other grammar functions through other groups PowerPoints.
For my verbal test I think that it was a good example of growth because it showed that I could use the stuff that I learned from the PowerPoints to talk to someone or answer questions that had the structures that I learned throughout this unit.
The main implications I see for this work would be speaking to people in Chinese and for translating Chinese. This will make it so that I can easily get a job in a high paying work place were the ability to translate languages is required.
I need to practice it a lot more and I need to use it in speech more often to make it so that it stays fresh im my memory. The main goal that I am going to set for myself this year and next year with my Chinese is to be able to have a several sentence long conversation with somebody.

Artifacts for the project.
The first artifact is my cardinal power point showing what I learned when presenting my grammar powerpoint. My second artifact shows my score that I got on my test showing that i did good on it.
